Renovation, Interior Design

Davis Buckley designed shops for Gucci working closely with Gucci family members and their key designers.  Davis Buckley was engaged by Gucci to bring a fresh “look” to the design of their shops in the United States.   The design brief required that the design be understated and elegant.  The design utilizes state of the art lighting and mechanical systems.  Davis Buckley was responsible for all interior design including display cases and furniture.

The interior of the shop is a long rectangle.  In order to maximize display space and to visually create intimate niches, a series of triangular projections were used, resulting in a sense of intimacy.  Dressing rooms and storage area functions were placed within the triangular display walls.  The most outstanding feature of the shop is the extensive use of quality detailed mahogany and brass.  Incandescent lighting is used throughout the store, with a uniquely designed lighting element within the shelving.
