Davis Buckley Architects and Planners (DBA) provided architectural services to the Urology Clinic of Winchester / Amherst Associates in a variety of capacities including an expansion and renovation project and a site development study which included the design and site plan approval of a new freestanding medical office building.
DBA renovated their original 4,500 square foot office and expanded it by adding 3,100 square feet including an expanded reception area, medical records area, a lab, exam rooms, surgical rooms, a library, offices and a staff break room, enabling the clinic to grow their practice and provide better care and service to their patients.
In conjunction with the clinic’s interior expansion and renovation project, DBA also provided services to replace the entire roof and mechanical systems for the full Amherst Medical Building.
Following the completion of the construction on the Amherst Medical Building, Amherst Associates engaged DBA to prepare a highest and best use / feasibility study for additional development on their site, with the focus on a portion of the site, fronting Linden Drive, that was previously occupied by a residence. After analyzing all possible uses for the property, DBA developed three options for adding medical office space or professional office space, including estimated construction costs and an outline of the pros and cons for each option. Ultimately, this resulted in the development of a design for a freestanding, 3,650 square foot medical office building, which has been reviewed and granted site plan approval by the City of Winchester.
